QLD Port Authority
Issue:
The Port of Gladstone is Queensland’s largest multi-commodity port, housing the world’s fourth largest coal export terminal. GPC approached SSI, via past client referral, to develop a suite of Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) targeted at Maintenance Shiploading.
Scope of Work:
SSI developed a client approved scope of work, after identifying inherent and critical risks (safety, production loss and equipment damage), prior to developing quality, and end user focussed, SWIs. The SWIs were developed using a combination of task risk assessments, task observations, engagement with the maintenance team and the technical writer’s own subject matter expertise.
Summary of what SSI Provided:
A locally based Technical Writer with over 25 years “hands on” experience in materials handling operations.
Client Testimonial:
Jimmy McConnell is a great attribute to your business and will be missed here at GPC. His willingness to cooperate and complete tasks to a high standard shows his professionalism. Thanks to Jimmy we are in a better place with our safety management.
