Helping companies to proactively address their health and safety needs
Issue:
A client in the manufacturing industry had implemented several health and safety initiatives in their factory and required a review of their workplace to understand their remaining risks. Their safe work instructions were also outdated and in varying formats and stages of completion.
Scope of Work:
SSI facilitated a business risk assessment with key personnel and conducted a full safety audit of the factory.
Summary of what SSI Provided:
Advice was provided on mitigating identified risks as well as exclusion zones, walkway and safety signage recommendations. SSI developed a Safe Work Instruction template, aligned with industry leading practice, then reviewed, updated and converted all process safety documentation to the new format. The client implemented all the audit recommendations and requested a follow-up audit in a year to reassess their risks and identify further recommendations for improvement.
During the time the client was implementing recommendations a WorkSafe Queensland Inspector visited the factory. The attending Inspector was impressed with the actions taken to date and the improvement plan that was being implemented. The Inspector then showcased the client site and processes to multiple other Inspectors as an excellent example of a business that takes safety seriously and is willing to grow and improve itself.
Client Testimonial:
The team at Smart Staff International have been instrumental in Norweld’s growth. Leanne and David understood our needs and accommodated our rapidly changing business. They brought a multinational mind set and applied it at our level for our budget. Highly recommended to any size business as they will cater to all needs.
